    The Sparkof Innovation

Our founding question: Why is there not a barrier technology which road workers can take themselves and deploy quickly without additional trucks or personnel?

Our initial concept designs led to the first proof-of-concept crash testing in New Zealand. These five full-scale tests validated our core principles and confirmed we were on the right path. The successful testing encouraged us to file a provisional international patent to protect this groundbreaking approach to roadside safety.

    EngineeringExcellence

Moving from concept to viable product required extraordinary engineering precision. We developed sophisticated computer simulation models calibrated with data from our proof-of concept tests. This allowed us to run thousands of virtual crash simulations at 100km/h speeds.

Each simulation provided valuable insights, allowing us to refine and optimize our design through countless iterations. Our goal was ambitious but clear: create a system that would meet the rigorous MASH TL3 (Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware) testing guidelines.

This intensive design phase was technically challenging but essential to developing a solution that would effectively protect workers while being practical for real-world deployment.

    From Simulationto Reality

With a design optimized through simulation, we moved to the critical phase of real-world validation of its crashworthiness. We constructed full-scale prototypes and partnered with CrashLab in Sydney to conduct comprehensive physical testing.

Our testing program included seven carefully planned crash tests. The first three tests allowed us to refine our design as we transitioned from computer simulation to real-world conditions, addressing subtle variables that only emerge in physical testing.

The culmination of our work came in early 2025 when we successfully completed all four required MASH tests. Seeing our device perform exactly as designed during these high-speed impact tests was the validation of four years of dedication and innovation.

    On the ground testimonials

“At Ventia, keeping our people safe on the road is personal. I have seen firsthand how exposed crews can be during roadworks, and the Arresta 100 genuinely changes that safety equation.

Its ability to be deployed quickly and remove people from the collision zone is why we are proud to be the launch partner and excited about the difference it can make for our crews and the wider industry.”
